When change comes up, some people think management is supposed to make life easy. They think that, “if management truly cares about me, they will make my workload easy and they will stop making me change.” They also have the attitude that if management doesn’t make life easy, they aren’t good management AND they don’t really care about their employees.
People that have this belief often get really upset when change happens. They feel that management has it out for them because they are bad management. This leads to feelings of anger, discontent, and frustration. As a result, they begin sharing their sentiments with others. They can become a poison to a group or company as they spread these same feelings to others.
When you are around people that have those feelings, it is important understand what is going on in their minds. There are two misunderstandings going through the mind of the person making the statement. Those misunderstandings relate to the following two questions:
What does it mean for management to truly care?
Management that truly cares wants you to be your very best. They want you to become a great person. Great management knows that for you to become a great person you need to go through trials, adversity, and change.
They know that these experiences will help you learn, grow, and become better. As a result, you will improve to become the person you are meant to be.
What are the behaviors of caring management?
Caring management does all they can to put you in situations where you can grow. They also put you in situations that force you to think outside the box. Caring management will give you challenging assignments. They will also give you new and different responsibilities than what you’ve had in the past.
Ultimately, caring management will do all they can to refine and eliminate your weaknesses. They will also work to strengthen and improve your strengths. They will do everything they can to put you in situations that will help you to become better.
How can you really make life easy?
What is really takes to make life easy is the willingness to let go. Understand that life is not easy. Change happens. Each person goes through their own sets of challenges and issues. It is easy to hold on to things and let them build up inside of you, but when you let go and begin going with the flow life gets a lot easier.
You can do this by working as hard as you can and allowing yourself to be satisfied with your efforts. You can always do better, but don’t beat yourself up if you give it your best shot. Allow yourself to be satisfied with your best effort.
