You probably entered the job market thinking you will get your dream job and live happily forever, but you ended up in a dead-end job that you loathe. You hate everything about your job. You hate your boss who keeps criticizing you, you hate your small desk and you hate Mondays of all things.

Just because your job seems to be going nowhere, i.e., you are denied promotion or you no longer have the same passion with which you started sometime ago, does not mean that you must quit. Before taking any rash decision, think about you future and most importantly the job market, which is very tough these days. Frankly speaking, you are very lucky that you at least have a source of income.
WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?
You do not have to worry because there are lots of people out there who go through the same phase at least once in a lifetime. Whether you want to quit because you are bullied, or because you have a horrible boss, or you are simply bored of routine life, you can still change everything and enjoy the job with the following tips.
YOU ATTRACT WHAT YOU FOCUS ON
If you work hard to make a mark, to make your presence felt and do more than what you are expected to do, then you deserve praise and a treat. You need to treat yourself for completing a project that you thought you couldn’t do but in the end you did. This will motivate you to work hard.
HOW YOU DO YOUR JOB DEFINES YOU
Know why women love men in uniform? Because of their refined attitudes! Soldiers are loved because of the way they do their jobs. You too need to possess a refined attitude if you desire respect and recognition. Most importantly, you need to do every single task like a professional. Because, what you do and how you do, clearly defines you.
People are always observing you and if they sense a weakness, they immediately outcast you. If you want people to respect you and if you want to get opportunities to knock on your door more often, then act like a pro.
TREAT YOURSELF FOR YOUR HARD WORK
Each day is a new day. Every day you put up an effort to work hard and prove yourself. If this is you, then you deserve a treat. If your boss, colleagues or family members don’t praise you, then don’t sweat about it. You deserve a treat and only you will appreciate yourself.
WHAT ARE YOU RUNNING FROM?
One thing about an unhappy employee is that he thinks he is the most honest and the hardest worker in the building. If you think like that, and, if you are running from corporate greed, favoritism or dishonesty, than the problem probably arises with you. Those elements are common to some extent in every office. However, it is up to you, how well you cope with these problems. By complaining about such stuff you are only showing your weakness.
ARE YOU BEING PUSHED AROUND BECAUSE OF YOUR QUALIFICATION?
A number of times, managers push around employees who do not have adequate skills or have an inferior qualification. If this is the case, than you can do a number of courses in your field that will benefit you. Upgrading yourself is always good. Besides, you will be able to work more efficiently at your job, which will improve your chances for a promotion.
It is tough to score a job, and, it is even tougher to retain it. What you should know is that you are not the first person to go through trying times, everybody does so. It is entirely up to you what you decide or want: a dead end job or an unemployed life.
