In the business world, there are many challenges that we face on a regular basis. One of the biggest difficulties is overcoming fears. They present themselves in many forms all the time. In the video below, I explain how overcoming fears can be made easy.
One of the biggest stumbling blocks to success in the business world is fear. Most people face fear in one form or another all the time. Sometimes it is the fear of losing your current job, not getting the next promotion, speaking in front of others, or something else altogether. Fear is the opposite of faith and can be difficult to overcome.
So how can you overcome your fear? How you face your fears determines whether or not you are successful. Fear can be a strong positive motivator when used properly, however, it can also lead to your destruction. You can overcome you fears and be successful by doing the following three things:

Know Your Self-Worth
When you realize your own self-worth, the sky becomes the limit to what you can do. Marianne Williamson made a powerful statement about self-worth. She said:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. ~Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles,” 1992
As the quote points out, each individual has great self-worth. When you know and understand your own self-worth, your self-confidence grows.
You can make a difference in the world by working hard to make a difference within your sphere of influence. As you make a difference, your sphere of influence expands until you make a big difference in the world.
Don’t Be Afraid to Fail
Fear of failure is a major stumbling block to success. Through failure you can learn what it takes to be successful. Learn from your own failures AND from the failures of others. With each failure, you get closer to being successful. Thomas Edison attacked failure by saying, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
Don’t be afraid to fail because with each failure you are one step closer to success. By failing, you gain powerful knowledge on what not to do. Understand that it will take many tries to be successful, so don’t get discouraged when you fail. All your failures will help you reach success.
Just Ask
There is a common fear in the business world that if you don’t know the answer to every question, you are a weak leader. In reality, no one knows the answer to every question. Just because you are the leader it doesn’t mean you know everything. Don’t be afraid to just ask questions.
Everyone in the business world has had help from someone else at some point in their career. When you ask questions, more often than not, people are willing to help. However, be sure to choose your timing wisely. Don’t ask right when the person first gets in or right when they are about to leave. At those times, they already have other things on their mind and are not in a position to take on a big question or project.
Although fear can be difficult to overcome, it can be a very positive motivator. When it is used in the right way it can lead to a great amount of success. Fear can motivate us to do our very best.
