When it comes to change, one of the key drivers is information. Information drives change because as people learn more, they act differently. They immediately want to act on their new knowledge, so that life can be better than it was up to this point.
Exponential Increase of Information
Knowledge and information are increasing faster than ever before. Some researchers say that the amount of information available on the earth is doubling every five years. The more people know, the more they can act on their knowledge.
Today, the Internet has made the transfer of information easier than ever before. With the Internet, people share knowledge and ideas across the world. Through this website and through social media, I am able to communicate with people that live all over the world. This exchange of information allows people to learn and grow much quicker in the past.
Knowledge is Power
Information drives change because knowledge is power. Have you ever been in a room where everyone knew more than you? Or, have you been in a situation where you knew you had a lot to learn to be more successful? Well, the saying that, “Knowledge is power” is just as true now as it was in the past. The more you know, the more you successful you can become. For that reason, people are doing all they can to obtain knowledge. People want to progress in life, so they can live a better life, be more powerful, and have more influence. In addition, people want to create better lives for their family members through gaining and acting upon information.
When you think about successful people, they almost always know all there is to know about whatever it is they do. For example, I work for a natural gas utility company. Most of the people that have moved up through management have learned everything there was to know about their position. Once they were proficient, they were promoted to the next position.
Information Creates Opportunity
Information drives change because it creates opportunities. When you know a lot, you have more opportunities. Some of the most successful people online are those that know all there is to know about their specific niche. I have a great admiration for people like Pat Flynn and Michael Hyatt. They both worked very hard to learn all the available information related to their business, so they could use it to benefit themselves and others. As a result, they are very successful.

Recently I read in multiple places that the most successful leaders are those who constantly seek learning. They understand that information drives change and that the more you learn, the more you can improve. With all the available information, you can do or become anything you want. If you want to start an internet business, run a surfing company, begin a new hobby, or do something else you can do it. You can learn the information to drive change in your own life.
