I want to start a new tradition on Leadership Done Right. From this point forward, I am going to use the Friday posts to share some of my favorite quotes on leadership and related topics. The posts are going to be shorter with the hope that the quote will lead to some discussion in the comments section.

This is a great quote! When you want to be a great leader, you must love those you lead to be effective. You show that love by doing what’s best for those you lead and those impacted by your decisions. When you love those you lead, you show them through your words and actions.
Show Your Leadership Love Through Words
Words are extremely powerful. You can use your words to improve the world or you can use them to tear down others and do very negative things. When you choose to use your words for the good of others, you can show love by praising and encouraging others. You can also give credit when credit is due. Compliment others when they do good work.
Show Your Leadership Love Through Actions
In addition to your words, your actions have a powerful impact. People do horrible things when they choose how to act. They also do amazing things that make the world a better place. When you choose to do good actions, you show love by doing kind deeds. You can help others, put others’ needs first, and do other kind things.

Amen, brother! It sounds line you’re familiar with the Apostle Paul’s writings, and show them in your leadership opportunities. I use the servant-leadership trait of empathy as one of the ways to show love in leadership, and as you alluded to, also complimenting others for jobs well done, as I, too, want to hear my Savior God say to me at the end of my mortal life!
