One of my favorite hobbies is mountain biking. It is challenging, fun, and really good exercise. When I mountain bike, there are many types of trails. Some are technical with lots of obstacles, rocks, and other things I need to go over or around while others are wide open and flow. There is also a wide variety of trails in between.
Regardless of the trail type, there’s one thing in common for most trails. When I ride a trail, I must pick the line I will ride and stick to it. When I do that, I am able to avoid ruts, trenches, boulders, fallen trees, cliffs and a wide variety of other obstacles. As I follow through on my chosen line, I am able to avoid danger.
I have ridden some trails that were difficult and even scary. When riding those paths, there’s a tendency to want to change my line and take a different line. Most of the time, that is a bad idea and leads to other problems. I have gotten stuck in a path, flipped over my handle bars and gotten in other small wrecks. So why does that happen in the first place? Because I am not following through with the plan and sticking to my line.
