7 Leadership Skills of Successful Entrepreneurs

Guest Post collaboration with Kate Berry: Kate is a professional writer at Assignment Help by Assignment-Tutor Company and she loves to write about leadership. She’s written for many leadership blogs where she describes the successful relationship between leadership skills and management.

To become a truly successful entrepreneur, one must have leadership skills. Leadership skills are required at every level of the business. Therefore, entrepreneurs must have leadership skills to sell their vision and plan to others to achieve them.

Lead for Success in the Present

By Brandon W. Jones on July 5, 2017 0

As a leader, it is very easy to get caught up thinking about the future. It is easy to ask questions like, “When is the next opportunity going to come? When is our product going to be a hit? Will we have our the next big breakthrough going to happen? When will I get the next promotion? Is progress going to happen like I want it to?”

It is also easy to focus on the past. When thinking about your past it is easy to remember things better than they really were. Often people think about their “glory days” and reminisce as if they wish they could go back and stay in that time.

As you think about the future and reflect on the past, it is easy to lose sight of the present.

Lead for Success in the Present

I heard a quote from Gordon B. Hinckley that explained the importance of living in the present. He said:

I don’t worry too much about the future, and I don’t worry very much about the past. The past is gone, and you can’t change it, you can’t correct it. The future, you can anticipate, but you can’t necessarily do very much about it. It is the present you have to deal with. Reach out for every good opportunity to do what you ought to do. (Hinckley)

Now lets take a deeper look at the quote. [Read more…] about Lead for Success in the Present

Well, if you have ever gone through any of these experiences, you are not alone. Many people experience these challenges every day.

SMART Goal Setting for Leaders

Although these challenges happen everyday, there is one thing you can do to overcome them. You can set SMART goals. In this episode, I will teach you what you need to do to set effective goals. First, it is really important to set the correct type of goals. Getting More by Stuart Diamond – Book Review

Getting More by Stuart Diamond

Getting More: How You Can Negotiate To Succeed In Work And Life by Stuart Diamond is one of my favorite books. I strongly recommend this book to every leader. Stuart Diamond teaches a method of negotiation that is different from some of the more common types of negotiation of getting to yes, getting to no, or doing what it takes to make the deal. Instead, he focuses on negotiating with each person so that everyone comes away happy because they got what they wanted.

Getting More by Stuart Diamond

When Do You Negotiate?

Often people think negotiations only happens when people are closing a business deal, getting their client out of a jam in the courtroom, or buying a car on a car lot. Although each scenario involves negotiations, did you know you are always negotiating? Here is just a short list of examples of people/scenarios where you negotiate:

  • Interactions with your
    • Spouse
    • Children
    • Friends
    • Neighbors
  • Shopping
  • Traveling
  • Requesting Refunds
  • Restaurants
  • And… Pretty much anytime you have a human interaction!

10 Reasons People Fail To Complete Their Goals

By Brandon W. Jones on June 21, 2017 1

10 Reasons People Fail To Complete their Goals

Have you ever been discouraged when working on a goal? Have you ever failed to complete a goal? Or, have you started working on a goal and lost your way? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are not alone. Many people lose their way on goals. In fact, here are 10 reasons why people fail to complete their goals.

10 Reasons People Fail To Complete their Goals

1. Not a Strong Enough Why

First, people fail to complete their goals because they don’t have a strong enough WHY. When you set a goal, it must have a strong motivating WHY. Too often people set a goal because it sounds cool or fun, but they don’t have a reason why it is important. Michael Hyatt often says, “When you lose your WHY, you lose your way!” It is very easy for a goal to fall apart or be forgotten when you forget your WHY.

The WHY must be strong enough to motivate you through good times and bad. And, when you are busy and times are challenging. If the WHY will not keep you motivated, then don’t set the goal. Without a strong WHY, the goal will likely fail, which will lead to frustration and discouragement. [Read more…] about 10 Reasons People Fail To Complete Their Goals
