In this episode, we are going to talk about what it means to be an intentional leader. When leaders are intentional they do things with a purpose. Their choices and actions are always done with a goal or end result in mind.

How You Can Be An Intentional Leader

Intentional leaders look at life differently than the average person. They realize that success and progress don’t just happen by chance. They happen as a direct result of actions. Therefore, intentional leaders conscientiously choose what they will do with their time and energy.

So why should leaders be intentional?

How to Develop Confidence and Influence

This is one of my favorite quotes from Marianne Williamson and then later used by Nelson Mendela.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

What is confidence?

Confidence is not arrogance. Confidence is belief in oneself and one’s powers or abilities; self-confidence; it’s self-reliance; it’s assurance. When someone has confidence, they know that they can do what it takes to be successful themselves and they can help others to be successful. In the first episode of this podcast, I explained that great leaders set goals. In this episode we are going to take a deeper look into SMART goal setting.

Although these challenges happen everyday, there is one thing you can do to overcome them. You can set SMART goals. In this episode, I will teach you what you need to do to set effective goals. The framework you use in setting your goals is very important because the wrong framework can lead to frustration, discouragement, and anything but success. When you are the leader, people watch everything you do. They listen to the things you say and watch your body language as you talk to others. People also pay close attention to what you do and don’t do and the daily decisions you make. They pay close attention because they will follow your positive example and base their actions on what they think you feel is acceptable and not acceptable.

Why Leaders Should Set a Positive Example

Great leaders understand that they set the positive example for those they lead. They know that they cannot expect their followers to do anything they are not willing to do themselves, so they set the best example they can for their followers.

In addition, great leaders realize that everything that happens around them starts with what they do. If they set a positive example, people are more likely to do good while if they set a bad example, others will more likely make poor choices as well.
