Every leader goes through trials and challenges at some point in their leadership journey. They come in the form of getting your opportunity to be a leader, making positive change, or getting acceptance of those you lead. There are also many other instances where leadership if difficult and trials come. As we go through each challenge, we grow, learn, progress, and they make us a stronger leader.

3 Great Stories To Make You A Stronger Leader

In this episode, we are going to look at three different stories that help give you strength through the difficulties of leadership to become a stronger leader.

Story #1 — Trees Growing In Nature

In nature, trees that grow up in a windy environment become stronger. As winds whip around young saplings, forces inside the trees do two things. First, they stimulate the roots to grow faster and spread farther. Second, the forces in the tree start creating cell structures that actually make the trunk and branches thicker and more flexible to the pressure of the wind. These stronger roots and branches protect the tree from winds that are sure to return. (This is an excerpt from the speech, Spiritual Whirlwinds, by  Neil L. Andersen.)

Lessons From Trees

I like this because it is the same for leaders. As we go through challenging times, we gain experience that helps us in the future to be a stronger leader. We learn from the difficulties and become better leaders as a result.

Story #2 — Darren Hardy

In the Forbes article, How Speaking Skills Turned A Common Man Into An Uncommon Success, by Carmine Gallo, Carmine shares the following story of Darren Hardy. [Read more…] about Podcast Episode #16: 3 Great Stories To Make You A Stronger Leader

Hello and welcome to the Leadership Done Right Podcast, Episode 2 – Why You Should Create a Vision!

One of my favorite statements about why you should create a vision is found in Proverbs 29:18. It says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” In episode #1 I explained that one of a leaders most important responsibilities is to create a vision for those they lead.

10 Qualities An Organizational Leader Should Possess

10 Qualities of an Organizational Leader

An organizational leader is not just defined by his role or some high position in the company, but he is defined by his actions and the traits that he doesn’t only possess but also displays. If you also want to be a great leader – one who can win the hearts of his colleagues – take a look at the following qualities:

1. A Real Organizational Leader Is Honest

A real leader holds integrity, values, morals and trust for his people. An organizational leader who owns these qualities will always have the ability to make people feel good about their environment and their jobs. Remember that employees always prefer to work for leaders whom they can feel comfortable with.

2. A Real Organizational Leader Likes To Communicate

An organizational leader will not be able to make his people understand what he wants to talk about if he does not communicate with people. Employees are not just interested in following an organizational leader, but interested in knowing his goals and values, and communication is the key to doing that. A successful organizational leader has the art of communicating in a way that makes everyone around him stay happy and agree with him at all times. What is Success to You?

What is Success to You?

This is a guest post by Mark Lee. He is an expert entrepreneur. He is a writer and blogger at Dissertation Help Love. His writes about self-motivation, leadership, management and business.

What is Success to You?

It’s a common practice to consult a dictionary when we need to know the meaning of a word in depth or in detail for better understanding. In many of the top dictionaries the meaning of success is slightly different. However, the commonality in each is that success is the “Achievement” of something wanted. The desire and wish of getting this success throughout the world is the same. It is certain that we all hunger to be successful in our life. However, the meaning of success is slightly diverse for every one of us.

General Perception of Success to You

To a few, achievement implies a decent paying employment, pleasant home, decent auto and all the material things to make them feel great. Others think it is getting something and feeling fulfilled by what life brings to the table. Where you are located geographically is a major part of your life and how you view things. Achievement has distinctive implications. It could mean fulfilling the errand of riding a bike, getting a driver’s permit, planting a vegetable farm, completing university, etc. [Read more…] about What is Success to You?

Planning For Success

By Brandon W. Jones on September 20, 2014 0

Recently, I attended a retirement planning workshop. The presenter explained the importance of planning for success by doing the right things today. He explained that with all the workshops and coaching he does, he runs into many people that aren’t planning or did not plan for their retirement. That is evident when they have no money in savings and decide to retire in one year. It is also evident when they don’t review their savings to determine if it is enough for their retirement. Also, occasionally he runs into people that worked way longer than needed because they didn’t understand what they wanted retirement to look like for them.

Your Financial Plan

The most important thing people can do is review and understand their current financial situation, future retirement goals, and options available to get where they want to be. When you take this approach, you are planning for success. This workshop really got me thinking about how I am planning for success in my financial future. [Read more…] about Planning For Success

There are still debates about if the great leaders are born or made. Some say that the leadership skills are something that’s in the blood, and if the person is not born a leader, no learning will help. Their opponents, however, state that the leadership is like a skill and it can be learned, as follows.

I agree with the second statement, and lots of leadership trainings and books on how to turn yourself into a leader also reaffirm it. But what the ‘leadership’ word means for us is plenty of skills and abilities, which, in my opinion, makes a successful leader. And, having formed these habits and ways to act, you can turn yourself into a good leader. So, what are these qualities?

  1. Confidence and high self-esteem. Probably, it’s the first point we mention when someone who is, in our opinion, a good leader. A leader cannot be imagined without faith in everything he does and belief in himself. [Read more…] about The Leaders Are Born But You Can Learn
