What Can You Expect From This Podcast?

In the Leadership Done Right podcast we will discuss leadership theory, practical leadership, leadership in the news, leadership and personal development, and many other topics related to leadership.

Additionally, on this podcast I will interview leaders from a wide variety of backgrounds so you can learn from their experiences. In the interviews, we will discuss how they became leaders, some of the challenges they went through, the lessons they learned, and leadership principles they live by.

I will post new episodes of this podcast weekly on Mondays. I will do my best to hold to that schedule, but sometimes my full-time job requires me to travel and/or is very demanding so there may be times I miss a week.

  • Podcast Episode 3 — Why Leaders Should Have Moral and Ethical Standards — Honesty, Humility, and Integrity: When I was a kid, it was common to hear people say, “My word is my bond.” People had a strong sense of integrity. In today’s world, there are many great people, but there’s also a greater abundance of moral and ethical distractions than ever before. Those distractions drive people to lie, cheat, and steal. In this podcast episode I discuss why it is extremely important for people to be honest, humble, and have integrity. I also talk about an example of what happens when you do not show integrity.

This episode focuses on why leaders should be intentional, areas of life that leaders should be intentional, and how intentional leadership translates into the everyday leaders life.

In this podcast episode, I explain what the lightbulb catastrophe was and why it lead to the plane crash that caused the death of over 100 people. It was an awful catastrophe. This episode focuses on lessons we can learn so we don’t repeat this catastrophe in our leadership or our organizations.

He faced much adversity through his career but through his hard work and consistent effort, he overcame the challenges. This episode looks at the challenges Walt Disney went through before his success. It then looks at five actions leaders can take to overcome leadership adversity. And for those who want to grow through adversity, there are four steps to add a little more adversity into our lives to drive growth.

Those leadership detractors come in many forms – interruptions, employees, coworkers, unexpected changes, surprises, etc. This episode uses an example from the wedge-tailed eagle to explain how leadership detractors can take leaders off course. It looks at five leadership detractors and steps we can take to avoid them.

If you don’t have a purpose, that leadership journey will end quickly. “Your ‘why’ or purpose is the engine that actually allows you to overcome all your challenges.” I love this interview with Frumi because she focuses intently on her purpose and it drives everything she does.
